RMS Wins Big at IESA State Track and Field Meet

Congrats to the following Rotolo Middle School student athletes who qualified and placed at the Illinois Elementary School Association State Meet!

RMS eighth-grader Katrina Schlenker broke TWO more state records—this time for the 1600 and 800 Meter Runs. (Katrina broke the Class 3A State Cross Country Record in 2017 with a time of 10:57. She was the first girl in the 38-year history of the IESA Girls Cross Country meet finals to break the 11-minute mark.) Way to go RMS Bulldogs!

• Girls 400 Meter Dash Katrina Schlenker with a time of 59:50, 3rd Place

• Girls 200 Meter Dash Aubrey Hahn with a time of 26:95, 20th Place

• Girls 200 Meter Dash Meghann Hartmann with a time of 28:21, 30th Place

• Girls 1600 Meter Run Lili Bednarek with a time of 5:33.93, 10th Place

• Boys 1600 Meter Run Quintin Lowe with a time of 4:55.56, 2nd Place

• Boys 400 Meter Dash Quinn Ahrens 6th place with a time of 56.74, 6th Place

• Boys 4×400 Meter Relay Ryan Whitwell, Tyler Jansey, Quintin Lowe, and Quinnn Ahrens with a time of 3:59.51, 6th Place

• Boys 4 x 100 Meter Relay (8th-grade) Dominic Anzalone, AJ Sanders, Jonah Fallon, Haydn Karner, and Eric Newberry with a time of 47.99

• Boys 4 x 100 Meter Relay (7th-grade) Tyler Jansey, Ryan Whitwell, Quintin Lowe, Quinn Ahrens, and Jack Sadowsky

• Boys 800 Meter Run Quintin Lowe with a time of 2:13.80, 8th Place

• Boys Discus Throw Jack Brozny with a mark of 111-02, 10th Place

• Boys Shot Put Jack Brozny with a mark of 33 feet, five inches

• Boys Discus Throw Ryan Whitwell with a mark of 104-06, 16th Place

Overall, the 8th-grade girls came in 3rd place in state, 7th-grade girls came in 19th place, and the 7th-grade boys came in 6th place.
