5Essentials- Parent/Guardian Input Request
You are invited to participate in the parent/guardian survey supplement of the Illinois 5Essentials Survey. Your participation in the survey will help us understand the conditions at your student’s school and guide improvement. We guarantee that survey responses will never be connected to the identity of you or your student. School reports will only show aggregated information on how parents/guardians and students responded as a whole. Please visit http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent to take the parent/guardian survey. Additional information: Parent Guide (in English and Spanish) Thank you!
RMS will be administering the 5Essentials Survey to students next week. Please review this document that further details what the survey is and explains the opt out process. The survey is administered in advisory and will be completed without interference in core academic time.
2025 Bulldog Bounce Information
Hey RMS Parents! Our annual Student Council sponsored Bulldog Bounce is happening on Friday, March 14th! Please complete this form to purchase tickets in advance from now through 8am on Monday, 3/10. We have some pretty amazing events planned-including a DJ, concessions, sports, and games of all kinds.
Can you kindly help us out by donating prizes? If so, please sign up on the attached sheet. We appreciate the support in helping make this event a success.
RMS Track
Please see attached information about RMS Track season. The first day of practice for boys is March 17th and for girls is March 18th. Any 7th or 8th grade student is welcome to join the team. Please email Head Boys Coach, Annie Fricot (annie.fricot@bps101.net), or Head Girls Coach, Cassie Ideran (cassandra.ideran@bps101.net), with any questions.
Ramadan
As we near Ramadan, I wanted to share the options we offer to RMS students. If your student needs a private space to pray during or after school, don’t hesitate to contact me (tara.piatek@bps101.net), and I will find a location for them. Additionally, during lunch, any student who would like to avoid the cafeteria may come to the main office to relax and socialize in the Gold Conference Room. Ramadan Mubarak!
Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR)
We will once again be taking the Illinois Assessment for Readiness starting the week of March 4th. Students will need to come to school with a fully charged Chromebook and a set of plug-in headphones if they have them. Wireless headphones should work, but using plug-ins will help avoid connectivity issues.
The state uses this information to provide support and resources to the schools. All students will take the Math assessments on March 4th, 5th, and 6th and the Reading assessments on March 4th and 5th.
Battle of the Books
Congrats to our students and staff on a very successful Battle of the Books last week! Students competed to show their knowledge of trivia related to the special list of books for the event! A great time was had by all.
