A Q&A Session for Families of Transitioning Students Receiving Special Education Services

Join us for an informal question-and-answer session:

  • 5th graders transitioning to 6th grade,
  • 8th graders transitioning to 9th grade (Freshman year)

This event is designed for families who have students who currently receive Special Education Services as they prepare for their next big step. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, share concerns, and learn more about what to expect during this important transition.

MAP Testing

All RMS students will be participating in MAP testing on May 6th (Math) and 7th (Reading). Please be sure your child comes to school with a fully charged Chromebook. You can refer to the  MAP Guide for Parents on the BPS website or the NWEA Family Toolkit for more information on the MAP assessment.

Help the City of Batavia

Got a Scary Traffic Story to Tell? Be in a Video & Earn $20!

Have you ever had a close call while walking, biking, scootering, or riding/driving? Maybe something happened that made you think twice about safety? If so, we want to hear your story!
The City of Batavia and the Riverbank Marketing Interns from Batavia High School are teaming up to create a series of summer safety videos—and we want real students like YOU to be the stars.

What to Expect:
• You’ll get a few simple questions in advance—no surprises!
• Interviews are quick (just a few minutes) and filmed by fellow students.
• 15 students will be selected to participate and receive $20 as a thank-you!

Filming will take place in Batavia at 3:30 p.m. May 9. The location will be shared with those selected. (It will be in Batavia.)
Participants must currently be in 6th grade through 12th grade. Just complete a short application and have your parent or guardian fill out the online consent form and submit it by May 2. The application and consent form are available at bataviail.gov/slowdownsummer

Have fun, share your story, and help keep Batavia safe this summer!
