Coffee with the Principal

Conferences
Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled to take place on October 9th. We are able to accommodate in person or virtual conferences. This is a great time to get to know your child’s strengths and opportunities for growth. If you are unable to make it during that day, you are able to schedule outside of that time but need to do it directly with your child’s teacher. Your child’s team should have contacted you with the ways to schedule a conference. If you have not received communication or have questions, please reach out.
Red Carpet Reads
Red Carpet Reads has officially started and almost all our books have been checked out but they will be coming back in and out as the competition continues. Make sure you talk with your students about what they might be reading for the contest. Check out the official Red Carpet Reads list. Students read a book and fill out a form to earn points for their ELA classes. This fall we will even have a visit from one of our Red Carpet Authors so stay tuned for more information!

We’re excited to launch The Bulldog Minute on Monday Sept. 15th, a brand-new weekly RMS podcast! Each episode will give you a quick hit of school news, updates, and stories to keep you connected. Attention Bulldog Nation!
RMS Cheer Open Gyms and tryouts are starting VERY soon! Open Gyms will be Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30-6:30 starting Sept 16th thru Sept 30th! We will end our preseason (Open Gyms) by cheering at a Girls Flag Football Game on October 1st! (More details to come) Tryout Clinics will be October 6th and 8th 5:30-7:30 and the official tryout will be October 9th at 5:30! Make sure your cheerleader joins our Google Classroom for updates! RMS cheerleaders participate in Sideline Cheer as well as Competition Cheer. We compete for ICCA and IESA; we also cheer for Home Boys Basketball Games and other community events. Cheerleaders practice 3-4 days a week depending on upcoming games and competitions.
An informational meeting will be held on October 2nd at 5:30 to go over the season’s details and more specifics about cheerleader expectations.
