- Students are expected to follow all expectations outlined in the handbook as well as any rules or policies set by BHS administration and staff.
- Any RMS student who is attending the Homecoming Game on Friday night needs to be accompanied at the game by an adult. Students must have an adult present to be admitted.
- The cost for RMS students is $3. Adult tickets are $5. Tickets can be purchased in advance for the game here.
Clubs and Activities
Each week, our students will get a “Peek at the Week” that will share important announcements for clubs and activities. At RMS we believe that students finding a club or activity where they belong and engage with their peers is a powerful thing. We will share the Peek at the Week in the messenger as well to ensure you have access to the important information. We have new clubs starting this week, including Restoration Club, so make sure you check it out!
Batavia Booster Memberships
The Batavia Booster Club will be selling memberships and spirit wear during the game, and be the first to sit in the new bleachers and experience the brand new lights at the BHS Stadium. We hope to see you there. Go Bulldogs!
DESSA
Starting September 19th, all students grades 6-8, will be assessed by current teachers utilizing the DESSA survey. The Devereux Student Strengths Assessment (DESSA) is a standardized, strength-based measure of the social and emotional competencies of students, completed by current teachers. Skills measured include: self-awareness, self-management, personal responsibility, decision making, goal-directed behavior, social awareness, relationship skills, and optimistic thinking. Teachers will complete this survey for all students three times per year. Please take a look at this information sheet for further information on the DESSA tool. Information from this survey will be utilized to determine effectiveness of our Advisory lessons as well as determine additional needs of our students. If you have questions or concerns regarding DESSA, please contact Carol Dopke, Assistant Principal of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment (carol.dopke@bps101.net)

LRC News
On October 14th, RMS will welcome renowned children and teen author, K.A. Holt. Holt has dedicated her writing career to making sure kids (and adults) understand that anyone can be the main character of a book, and everyone deserves to see themselves reflected on the page.
Holt will be visiting RMS to discuss her writing process and how she develops characters that model resiliency in the face of personal challenges. Some of the books your student may be familiar with are: Ben Bee and House Arrest. Students and parents can use this link to order K.A. Holt’s books and have them signed and ready for pick up on October 14th. Please print the order form and bring payment to LRC by September 26. Printed forms can also be picked up in the LRC.
The RMS Scholastic Book Fair is coming soon! We need help during the school day and one day from 3:30-4:30. The book fair will run November 1st to November 4th. If you can help please email Kelly.cook@bps101.net.
Spirit Wear Clothing Drive
Batavia Interfaith Clothes Closet is looking for donations of new or gently used spirit wear of youth and adult sizes. These items would go to anyone in Batavia who would have access to it for free in an effort to support and encourage our Bulldogs of all ages to feel included. (and, we can keep it out of landfills as a bonus). The Clothes Closet has graciously offered to provide a spirit wear space! The Spirit Wear Drive will run from 9/12-9/30. Donations can be dropped off in the Main Office at RMS.
